Are you having issues with your TikTok feed? Are you wondering, “Why is my TikTok not showing new videos?” If it looks like you’re not seeing new/recent content on your For You Page (FYP), the app may be experiencing some downtime. Let’s go through the possible reasons your feed has been showing you reruns.

Why Is My TikTok Not Showing New Videos Across All Feeds?

The problem is most likely technical in nature. So, if you’re wondering, “Why is my TikTok Following page not showing new videos?” the cause may be any of the following:

  • A full cache: Try clearing your device cache and TikTok app cache
  • An update may be available: Check to see if your device/app didn’t install any new automatically.
  • Connectivity problems: Switch from WiFi to data, then back to WiFi. You should also restart your modem.
  • TikTok servers are down: Check online to find out if TikTok servers are experiencing technical issues. If this is the cause, you’ll have to wait until everything’s up and running smoothly again.

When trying to address any of the above issues, it will also help to take the following actions:

  • Close all running apps on your device.
  • Relaunch TikTok to see if everything is back to normal.
  • Turn your device off, then turn it back on.
  • Log out of TikTok. Log back in and check if your feed is finally showing new content.
  • Uninstall and reinstall TikTok. Remember that if you uninstall TikTok, you’ll lose all your TikTok drafts. Save them to your device before uninstalling the app.
  • Run a device diagnostic. Make sure you didn’t accidentally install malware from an unknown link.

If you’re still wondering, “Why is my For You feed not refreshing with new content?” submit a report to TikTok.

Answers to “Why Is TikTok Not Showing My Videos?”

If the problem is TikTok not showing your videos, you can also try the fixes listed above. But there may be other possible causes.

  • Your video/s may be under review: TikTok reviews all new posts and posts that suddenly gain popularity. If you’re looking for a video you recently posted or that went viral recently, it may still be undergoing review. For posts that suddenly gain popularity or viral status, TikTok needs to check for spam activity or inauthentic engagement.
  • Your video/s may be in violation of TikTok Community Guidelines: TikTok automatically takes down inappropriate content, sensitive content, offensive content, etc. Check your notifications, as you may have missed one informing you of your violation.
  • You may have been the victim of a TikTok mass report bot: Your account may have been randomly or intentionally targeted for mass reporting sans any legitimate violations.

Why TikTok Stopped Showing Your Videos to Your Followers

If you’re asking, “Why is tiktok not showing my videos to my followers?” and if your follower engagement suddenly dropped, check your Analytics. Your TikTok Analytics will show you if your videos are reaching your followers.

The causes mentioned above may be affecting your videos’ visibility. If the decline in your reach mostly affects your followers, a shadow ban is another likely reason.

TikTok does not enforce “shadow banning” as an official penalty. However, the platform does penalize violating accounts by reducing the visibility of their posts. If you missed TikTok’s notifications regarding content violations, you may have reached the three-strike threshold for a particular violation type. After three strikes, TikTok may suspend your account or make your posts less visible to your audiences.

Check your videos’ privacy settings for good measure. Make sure you did not accidentally select Friends or Only me as your audience. For the greatest possible reach, choose Everyone as your audience. If you select Friends, only followers you follow back can view your posts. Your other followers won’t have access to your content.

How To Refresh Your For You Feed Recommendations

TikTok’s For You feed recommendations almost always deliver something new for users to discover and enjoy. Depending on your specified interests and level of interactions with videos and other accounts, your content recommendations may also become repetitive.

Your interests today may also change tomorrow. An account you thought you might enjoy following may eventually prove to be not what you expected. Your activities on the platform contribute to your content recommendations. But if you want to refresh your For You feed experience, you can do so with just a few clicks!

  1. Go to your Profile and tap the Menu in the upper right.
  2. Select Settings and privacy
  3. Under Content & Display, select Content preferences
  4. Tap Refresh your For You feed
  5. Tap Continue
  6. Tap Refresh

How To Sustain Audience Interest and Engagement

Thanks to social media, more and more people are developing the attention span of a goldfish. Users have endless content options, and their interests often ebb and flow unpredictably. How do you sustain their interest and engagement?

It can become a real challenge to keep things always fresh and interesting. Some users are always looking for something they haven’t seen before. Others may enjoy the same types of content for longer periods. For both types of viewers, creators also have to make sure their content stands out among others within their niche.

You can always rely on best practices in content creation and optimization to attract followers who are right for you. If you want to build a dedicated fanbase you can always count on, you need to go beyond people-pleasing. You need to dig deeper and foster meaningful connections — instead of just stimulating reactions. Find your TikTok tribe — or the people who share not just your interests but also your voice and values.

Why is my TikTok now showing new videos? New followers may lose interest in you in the blink of an eye when they weren’t right for you to begin with. Make sure you’re reaching audiences who will stick around for a long time and deliver consistent engagement.
