How To Save a TikTok Video as a Draft

You can save a TikTok video as a draft when you want to keep editing your content at a later time. You can also save finished videos in your Drafts folder to line them up for scheduled posting.

Here’s how to save a TikTok video as a draft:

  1. Tap the Create button.
  2. Record a video or upload one from your device.
  3. Edit your video as you like, then tap Next. You can also tap the down arrow at any time during editing. Tap Save to save the video to your device. You can upload the video to continue editing it on TikTok at a later time.
  4. If you tapped Next in step 3, type your video caption, tag people, and tag a location.
  5. Edit who can view your post. Tap More options to adjust other privacy settings. You can also skip steps 4 and 5 and immediately proceed to step 6 to save your draft video.
  6. Tap Drafts in the bottom left corner to save your TikTok to your Drafts folder.

Can other people see your TikTok drafts? Your drafts are private. People who visit your profile and browse through the videos on your profile feed won’t have access to your draft videos. Next up, let’s find out how to access drafts.

Where Are Drafts on TikTok?

Where are drafts on TikTok? You’ll find any video drafts you saved on your Profile page. Here’s how to see drafts on TikTok:

  1. Tap the profile icon in the bottom right to go to your Profile page.
  2. Locate the folder showing six small lines representing the file icon. This is the first (leftmost) folder in the row of video folders on your profile feed. It should also say Drafts if you have saved any video drafts.
  3. Once you tap the Drafts folder, you’ll see all your unpublished videos. Select the video you want to edit or post.

Take note that when you uninstall TikTok on your device, you’ll lose the drafts you saved while using said device. Additionally, drafts are only accessible on the device you used to create them.
