What Is a Permanently Banned TikTok Account?

With a permanent ban on TikTok, you won’t have access to your account for an indefinite period. The platform completely locks you out and prevents you from signing in to your account.

This is the most serious of all the ways TikTok could ban you.

6 Reasons Your Account Was Permanently Banned TikTok Explains

Sometimes, you just have to look at your content to find the reason. What’s in the videos that you post on the platform? They might be in contravention of TikTok’s Community Guidelines

Remember that you promised to create content that conforms to these guidelines. That is the only way you would have been able to join the platform. You might not remember the agreement you made. We can make a summary of the rules for you.

1. Your Content Promotes Violence

Maybe you said it in jest. It could’ve been a tongue-in-cheek moment. Unfortunately, TikTok took your mention of illegal activities seriously. Now, they are watching your account. This is about more than mouthing very dark lyrics to a popular song. It’s about encouraging senseless violence.

2. You Create Sexually Explicit Videos

TikTok is a place for creative expression. But it is not a place for wonton sexual expression. It limits the level at which users can post sensual content. If that is the content you want to share, you can join another social media platform. Some of them are noticeably more liberal than TikTok.

3. Your Content Encourages Self-Harm

TikTok does not condone content that promotes harming oneself. This could be to attain a certain body aesthetic.

Maybe it could be for some other form of gratification. It’s not the place to give advice or instructional information on this topic. The platform will punish your account for sharing this information with vulnerable users.

4. Your Content Contains Violence or Graphic Content

Some people have a penchant for gory images on the internet. They want the videos without the blurring and censorship.

Googling these images might be difficult. This doesn’t mean that TikTok is the place for this kind of content. Videos showing illegal activities or violent extremism that lead to death have no place on this platform.

5. Your Content Contains Threats Against Other Users

This is also not the ideal platform to scam other users. Nor is it the place for bullying other Instagram creators. Users can create strikes against your account if they think you use hate speech.

6. Age Restrictions

Some users must also leave the platform because they are under 13 years old. You must tell TikTok your age when setting up the account. Of course, many users can lie about this.

TikTok will notice this when other users report this account. These users might notice that the videos consistently feature inappropriate content from a child.

There are several types of bans. Permanently banning an account is not the first option for TikTok. It probably reached this point because of multiple severe violations.

Perhaps there are several strikes against your account. A strike should not last forever. However, getting multiple strikes against an account is serious to TikTok. It is unknown how many strikes warrant a complete ban on the platform.

This is why you must challenge when you receive strikes in your account. Multiple minor violations could lead to the end of your TikTok account as you know it.

I Need My Account Back. How Long Is a Permanent Ban on TikTok?

TikTok intends for a permanent ban to be permanent. So, how long is a permanent ban onTikTok? This is not like a temporary ban or a shadow ban. This is TikTok’s last resort to protect the rest of the users on the platform. Let’s talk about the four other types of bans that you may encounter before this one.

1. Underage Ban

You shouldn’t be using this platform if you’re under 13 years old. Depending on where you are, this age restriction is 14 years old. With this ban, TikTok may delete your account after 113 days. After this time, you won’t see this account again. The ban will be irreversible.

If you think TikTok is wrong about your age, you need to appeal. If not, you will not be able to access your account, and you won’t even get it back when you would have turned 18.

2. The Shadowban

This is when TikTok moves stealthily. You will notice that your account doesn’t feel the same. You’re not reaching the audience that you typically do. The engagement on your posts is lower than usual. You don’t even see your regular commenters on your page anymore.

You might be the victim of a TikTok shadowban. This is when TikTok discreetly reduces your page’s visibility among users. It doesn’t allow your content to go on the For You page (FYP) anymore.

This way, new users won’t find you. It doesn’t notify you when this is happening. That is the sinister part. You just have to pay attention to the numbers on your page to find out for yourself.

3. A Temporary Ban

TikTok will tell you when there is a temporary ban on your page. At least you won’t have to wonder like with the shadowban. These bans may restrict particular activities that you enjoy on the platform.

You may be unable to post, comment, or send messages to other users. Maybe you can’t even go live on the platform during this ban. As the name suggests, it doesn’t last long.

Between 24 to 48 hours, you should have fully atoned in TikTok’s eyes. The length of the ban ultimately depends on how severe the infraction is.

4. Permanent Ban

This is when things get serious. After repeated reports against your account, TikTok may ban you permanently.

It completely removes your access to the platform. TikTok may even block the device’s ability to access the platform again. This would make it particularly hard to create a new account.

You should appeal this ban to avoid this severe consequence.

What To Do About Your Permanently Banned TikTok Account

TikTok gives you options to address a permanent ban on your account. So, there might be hope for you yet. Below are a few options for you to consider when recovering your account.

1. Report the Problem

Let TikTok know that there is a problem with your account. They have built a feature into the platform just for this. Follow these ten steps to report a problem:

  1. Launch TikTok on your phone.
  2. Select the Profile Icon in the bottom right of the screen.
  3. Tap on the three horizontal lines in the top right corner.
  4. Select Settings and Privacy.
  5. Go to Support.
  6. Select Report a Problem.
  7. Choose the Writing Board Icon from the top corner.
  8. Now you’re at the Your Feedback page. Select the Compose icon.
  9. Write a message explaining the situation.
  10. Tap Report.

2. Contact Tiktok’s Support Team

Another option is to email TikTok about the ban on your account. Ensure the first email has your name on TikTok and information on the ban.

You don’t want them to reply to the email asking for more information, thus delaying the process.

Send screenshots of the violations in this email as well. Don’t assume that they know what you’re talking about. Any supporting evidence will be useful in this process.

We know that you might feel very disgruntled. Nevertheless, keep your tone respectful in these emails. The people who respond to your email are there to help you. They could be the ones separating you from getting your account back. Try these emails:

3. Initiate an Appeal

You can let TikTok know that you think they made their decision incorrectly. You can do this by following an appeal process. This is how you request an account recovery:

  1. Launch TikTok on your phone.
  2. Secent the Inbox icon at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Find the system notification for the ban. Then select Appeal to initiate the process.

Hopefully, one of these options will be successful for you.

No Option to Appeal TikTok Ban: How To Make a TikTok Account After Being Banned

Sometimes, it’s more complex than creating a new account. TikTok has a lot more information about you than you think. I didn’t just ban your username.

It also banned the email address you used to create the account. It may even have beef with the phone you used for TikTok.

You need to know how to make a TikTok account after being banned. If you don’t, you will keep hitting roadblocks. We have some tips that could help you. This is especially useful when you have no option to appeal a TikTok ban.

TikTok didn’t just make a note of your email address. It connects you to an IP address. That is what it removed from its platform. If you are facing a permanent ban, you may need some new things. These are:

  1. An email address that you did not use for TikTok
  2. Potentially, a new cell phone
  3. A new username

This is why having a presence on other social media platforms is a good idea. You can go to your Instagram or YouTube and notify everyone of your new page.
You may have to grow your account from scratch. Around this time, people find buying fake engagement tempting. Resist the urge. This is the type of behavior that could result in a ban again.
