Why Does TikTok Show Who Viewed Your Profile?: Profile View History
Does TikTok show who views your profile? Yes, it does, with the Profile Views feature.
TikTok’s Profile View History feature is unique to the platform. The feature gives users the option to see who views their profile. When you turn on the feature, you also consent to letting other users know when you view their profile. The feature has to be on for the mutual profile viewers. Here’s how it works:
- You and Person A both turn on Profile Views: You can see when Person A views your profile and vice versa. Both of you will receive notifications about people viewing your profiles.
- You turn on Profile Views and view Person B’s profile: However, Person B has opted not to turn on Profile Views. Person B won’t know that you viewed their profile. You also won’t receive a notification when Person B views your profile.
- You turn off Profile Views: You won’t have access to who views your profile, and the accounts you visit won’t know when you view theirs.
Why does TikTok show who viewed your profile? The data offers valuable insight into your reach. You can learn more about the types of audiences you’re reaching with your videos.
You can identify their demographics. You can check your profile viewers against your followers and those who like and comment on your posts.
Users must tap your avatar when your post appears on their feed or search for you on TikTok to visit your profile page. So, profile views indicate active interest in your page and content. Knowing who takes the extra step to check you out gives you a unique opportunity to get to know potential new fans.
Does TikTok Tell You How Many Times Someone Viewed Your Profile?: Profile Views
Does TikTok show you who views your profile? Yes, but only if you turn on the Profile Views feature and if the other person also turns on the same feature.
Does TikTok tell you how many times someone viewed your profile? When you turn on Profile Views, you will receive notifications when someone views your page. The notification will tell you how many people viewed your profile.
Only data from the past 30 days will be available on your Profile View History page. TikTok does not tell you how many times the same person viewed your page.
Here’s how to turn Profile Views on/off:
- Go to your Profile and tap the Menu in the top right corner.
- Select Settings and privacy.
- Tap Privacy.
- Under Interactions, tap Profile views.
- Tap the toggle beside Profile view history to turn the feature on or off.
Follow these steps to access your Profile View History page:
- Tap your Inbox from the navigation bar at the bottom.
- Select Activities to view all activities from other users.
- Tap the Profile views notification. The notification preview will tell you how many people viewed your profile within a certain period in the past 30 days.
You’ll see the list of people who viewed your profile in the past 30 days. Only people who also turned on Profile Views will appear on the list. You can turn off the feature on this page by tapping the gear icon at the top right.
You can also start following your profile visitors from this page. The Follow button will appear next to their names.
Can TikTok See Who Viewed Your Profile?: TikTok Analytics
Does TikTok show you who viewed your profile? Can TikTok see who viewed your profile? The answer to both questions is yes.
Whether or not your Profile Views feature is on, you can still access insights about your profile views via your Analytics. TikTok tracks your profile visitors and provides a tally alongside other metrics on your TikTok Analytics page.
However, the profile views data in your Analytics does not identify who your visitors are. The data gives you the total number of visits in the last seven, 28, or 60 days. It will also show your profile views growth rate compared to the previous period.
To access your Analytics and check your profile views data:
- Go to your Profile and tap the Menu in the top right.
- Select Settings and privacy.
- Tap Analytics.
- The first page you’ll see is the Overview. Choose your preferred date range.
- In addition to Profile views, you’ll also see metrics for Video views, Unique viewers, Likes, Comments, and Shares.
How To Use Profile Views To Measure Your Performance
Identifying your profile visitors is not only about satisfying your curiosity. If you’re a brand or creator, your viewers’ identities give you valuable audience insights.

Additionally, you can find out if you’re converting your visitors into engaged followers.
Your Profile View History page also presents you with leads. Unlike visitors in a physical store, page visitors leave behind digital crumbs of information you can use for better conversions.
